A NOTE FROM HANNAH
Hello Spring
It might not yet feel like Spring outside but, if you have a chat with nature, I think you will find it's coming... the daffodils and bluebells are certainly feeling ready and popping up all over Manchester. Not to mention the blossom which is lining our red brick streets with the sweetest scent and shades of candy floss pink.
I, for one, am very ready for the seasons to change too. I love spring. There is something about seeing all the new growth in nature that fills me with excitement and optimism for the year ahead. I also love the wardrobe changeover – finally, I don’t need a thermal under everything and I can enjoy linen against my skin and seeing my toes peeping out of sandals.
Whilst we do love an excuse to celebrate festivities in our family, Easter has never been a huge occasion for us, other than the mass of chocolate eating that I recall as a child and to be honest I would much rather enjoy the long Easter break nowadays in the garden or pottering around Didsbury with Lola and Nelson, than overindulging on too much chocolate.
However, I can well imagine the fun that must be had on Easter hunts, and I am sure on this Easter weekend we will enjoy some of that with our godchildren. I’ll be sure to hide the odd treat for Lola too, as she does rather enjoy getting involved in games and as we all know chocolate and doggies are not a good match.
So, here’s to embracing the new season – enjoy watching those daffodils popping up around you and embrace the long weekend for whatever life has in store for you.
