Real Women Series: Meet Ceri

Real Women Series: Meet Ceri
Our customers are at the heart of what we do. We pride ourselves in having many long term customers, who have been supporting us on our journey to make fashion more sustainable over the years.

In the run up to Christmas, we explore our Autumn Winter 21 collection through conversations with six women across the UK.

Please start by telling us a bit about yourself, your career and lifestyle?

Hi, I'm Ceri, an actor, author and Yoga teacher. I graduated from the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts, London in 2012 and not long after graduating I landed a role on a Welsh language soap filmed in North Wales.
After living in many cities and enjoying the hustle and bustle and convenience of city life, I've now found myself drawn to a slower, calmer pace of life, which is why you'll now find me living my best life in my new home nestled within the Snowdonia mountains. I was lucky enough to find a beautiful listed building less than a 5-minute walk from the house which, with the help of my very patient partner, is now my Yoga studio.

How and when did you find out about Beaumont Organic?

I was writing a blog with a friend, Eat Sleep Organic, where we focused on organic living. At the time it was really difficult to come across sustainable fashion brands that were...well...fashionable! We came across Beaumont Organic and felt like we had struck gold! Finally, a conscious and sustainable fashion brand that offered the most beautiful, high quality, chic and of course fashionable items.

How does the sustainability and slow living ethos of Beaumont Organic sit alongside your everyday values?

As an Aries, I find it very difficult to sit still and do nothing, which is exactly why I turn to Yoga and connect so deeply with brands such as Beaumont Organic, they remind me of what I need.
As I mentioned above, I've only ever lived in busy towns or cities until recently where I've just noticed such a huge pull towards nature and living a more conscious, meaningful life. This is exactly why I love Beaumont Organic, because it reminds me of what I need and how I want to live. It inspires me!

We think clothing can be transformative. How do the right clothes make you feel and why do clothes matter to you?

Style and aesthetics are such a huge part of who I am.
As a creative and as an actor I've always noticed how clothing can really transform who you are and how you feel. For me, the right clothing will instantly lift my self-worth. It will give me that confidence, that assurance and poise.

As a woman, I sometimes get easily intimidated but when I’m wearing my favourite pieces, I instantly take my power back. They give me permission to be myself and to stand tall, no matter where I am or what I’m doing.

What does your everyday wardrobe look like?

As an actor and a Yoga teacher I am normally either in character clothing or leggings, however on the weekend it’s all about cosy, well designed knitwear.

I've been living in my Beaumont Organic Nell-Marie Alpaca & Organic Cotton Dress and mornings just aren’t the same unless I’m wearing my Adeline Organic Cotton Quilted Jacket.

Has your relationship with clothes changed post-lockdown?

Oh interesting. Yes, I guess it has!
I’ve really noticed a shift in the way I shop. Since not being able to physically visit a store and only purchase online I’ve noticed that I’m giving myself a lot more time to think over purchases and I’m buying much less, which I really love. The pieces I buy are more investment pieces that I adore and they’re pieces that I’ve really taken the time to mull over before purchasing.
I also feel a lot more confident in my person style and I have no idea what’s inspired that. Maybe the time and space during lockdown really gave me the opportunity to get to know myself on a deeper level and understand what I actually like and love.

If you could change one thing about the fashion industry what would it be and why?

As well as the ridiculous 52 seasons that fast fashion companies adhere to, I would change the need for trends.

I feel like trends really mess up your ability to find your own person style and you can really lose yourself, who you are, what looks good on you and what you’re naturally drawn to when you follow trends. Be you, find what works for you and what you love, regardless of what’s on trend that season.
I feel like this will also help you to consume less and love the item you’ve bought for longer. You’ve chosen it because you love it, not because it’s in fashion.

If you had to pick a favourite from the new collection, what would it be and why?

I am in love with the Glynis Cord Dress In Rouge. The skinny cord is everything and it’s also such a versatile piece that can be styled up for a night on the town or down for a casual walk in nature.
The colour is just perfect for autumn!

And do you have any favourites from past Beaumont Organic collections that you wear on repeat?

As mentioned above, I live in my Beaumont Yoga sets, the Jo-Jane Organic Cotton Yoga Bra and bamboo leggings and also the Organic Nell-Marie Alpaca & Organic Cotton Dress.

The quality of the pieces I own are undeniable and the styles are timeless. I’ll be wearing them until the end of time…
